Creating good habits

So. I’ve decided for the last 6 months of the year I’m going to focus on building good, productive habits.

My New Habits List

  1. Create a piece of content every day

  2. Exercise every day

  3. Meditate for 5 minutes every day

Essentially it's an CEM, or an EMC, or a MEC strategy. (What is a plan without a corporate-style, a jargony acronym?)

But back to the point. Rumour has it that it only takes 30 days to build a habit. As long as you keep the chain going for the entire 30 days, you'll find yourself with a habit that'll be hard to break.

By the end of July I should hopefully be habitually exercising, meditating and creating content daily. (However, keeping in mind that I will be in Italy and England from 29th August - 29th September so there might be some slight disruptions during that time. Hopefully, they'll be so habitually ingrained that I'll naturally incorporate them into my travel schedule.)

So far July 1 has a big red X on my calendar. It’s it DONE. Yay! ✅

However, July 2 I fell short as I had to drop my boyfriend to work at 7am and had a doctors appointment in the afternoon.

But today is July 3. I'm going to forget about yesterday and focus on moving forward from today. I’ve meditated (for 10 mins, rather than the designated 5 mins to make up for yesterday), I’ve written this blog post which counts as a bit of content (I also wrote content for my beauty and book blog Instagram), and so far I've done 5,000 steps (aiming for 10,000).

The other thing I'm using to keep me on track is my MiGoals Goals Diary. I LOVE my MiGoals Goals Diary. (Pink book pictured in the picture.) I've never found anything that keeps me as on track as my MiGoals diary. It helps me plan, strategise and stay accountable. I strongly recommend it to anyone who wants to get sh*t done. (MiGoals, if you're reading this: I love you.)

I'm determined to spend the last six months of the year productively, working towards creating good habits that'll hopefully turn into me achieving my goals. I'll be sure to let you know how I go.

How are you going to spend the last 6 months of the year?

And remember: make sure you laugh at least once today! (If you find you're not laughing, I strongly recommend you create a habit of it.)
